Oh hi. I’m missleilah, and I write the stories.
I first started blogging back in my final year of Copywriting at Ad School, when my lecturer told me that every writer should have a blog; it helps them hone their craft. At the time, blogging and the Internet was very different. I went as an anonymous writer. Until blogging became trendy, and it was no longer necessary to hide behind anime characters that didn’t really look like you anyway.
I spent the first 29 years of my life on the coast in Cape Town, South Africa. It was the best place to grow up; it’s also where I developed my passion for photography. I moved to London at age 29, to pursue my career goals. One day I packed my entire life into one suitcase and moved to a city that I’ve never visited before.. not even on holiday. I now work as a Creative Director in London on some fucking cool brands.
And in my “free” time, I do this. I write about my experiences as a young female creative, trying to fight this gender diversity thing in an industry that excites the living hell out of me. I took a chance on following my dreams, risking everything, and it worked. I am a huge advocate of following your dreams, and if I can inspire just one person to do something they’re afraid of… I’d be happy.
I also write about my adventures in London, and Europe, the world.. and sometimes I get paid for it. I promise my audience a realistic view of everything I experience. So my views are completely and wholeheartedly my own and are in no way influenced by the brands I’m speaking about.
As an artist, I give a little bit of my soul to every project I create and am involved in. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoy creating it. If you would like to get in touch, you can reach me here:
